Angel Cruzata
House Manager
Meet Angel Cruzata!
Angel serves as the House Manager for Freedom Through Education, where he is committed to creating a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment for individuals rebuilding their lives after incarceration. His unique perspective is shaped by a combination of lived experience, higher education, and hands-on work serving both the homeless community and individuals transitioning back into society. With degrees in Psychology, Sociology, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Communication Studies, Angel brings a thoughtful, trauma-informed approach to his work, providing peer support, housing guidance, administrative assistance, and compassionate leadership. His calm demeanor, strong communication skills, and unwavering commitment to service help create a foundation where participants can begin to heal, grow, and thrive.
After serving 24 years in prison, Angel entered Freedom Through Education's transitional housing program and was placed in Prosperity House. It was there that he experienced firsthand the life-changing impact of stability, education, accountability, and community support. That experience inspired him to remain with the organization and dedicate his life to helping others navigate the same journey home. As House Manager, Angel considers it a privilege to walk alongside participants as they overcome obstacles, rebuild confidence, and discover new opportunities. His work is more than a profession—it's a calling to give back the hope, structure, and encouragement that transformed his own life.
Life Motto: "Growth doesn't happen in a single moment. It is a choice I make every day."
